A review of Clarence Hotel by Luis Redfern written on Wednesday 1st of August 2012
Booked in over night and stayed the entire weekend. Michael, Lou and Keaton were friendly and were only there when they we needed them. The room was really clean, the furniture was old but practical. The decore was relaxing and there was hot water for showers morning and night! They only offer room only so you don't have to get up at some stupid time for breakfast. They directed us to some great places to eat a few steps away. We found all the other guest houses charge an extra fiver per person for a breakfast but the place went to only cost 4.35 for a full english and a cuppa each. Our room was so comfy that I think it was worth far more than the £40 they charged me per night. Really like the changes they made to the guest dinning/bar area, the place looks great! Stayed here 2011 under the old owner and would definately not have come back under their management. The new owners displayed pictures of the room and we got one of the rooms from one of the ads, it was even better than the pic looked. The only negative thing was the weather, rained like mad! We will definately go back to this lovely spot and wish Lou and family success..
